We’re excited to share with you an important milestone for our Centre. This February, something special happened: CiEFT has welcomed its first research intern, Elisabeth Bettenworth, who joins us from the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany.
This is more than just a new collaboration — it marks a deepening of our mission as a centre that lives at the crossroads of psychotherapy, training, and research.
At CiEFT, we believe that therapy shouldn’t be separated from research, and learning shouldn’t be confined to lecture halls. By inviting students into our clinical world, we create space for the kind of education that’s rooted in human connection, emotional depth, and reflective practice.
Elisabeth didn’t just want to study therapy—she wanted to feel it, see it, and understand how it transforms people. That’s exactly the kind of learner we want at CiEFT.
A very warm welcome to Elisabeth who brings with her a strong interest in clinical psychology and research, and a curiosity that fits beautifully with our way of working. She will be supporting ongoing research and gaining hands-on experience inside a clinical environment where emotion is central — not just in theory, but in lived, therapeutic process.
This is meaningful for us because we know how important it is:
-
- For clients, who benefit from a centre that continues to learn and evolve
-
- For students, who are seeking real-world experience that bridges academia and human care
-
- And for the field, which needs more spaces where research is grounded in the realities of clinical work and emotional healing.
This is just the beginning of something we care deeply about — offering opportunities for emerging ambitious professionals to grow inside a living, breathing therapeutic community.
Why does this matter to us? Because research in a clinical space isn’t about numbers on a spreadsheet—it’s about understanding the stories behind healing. It’s also about growing a new generation of psychologists who don’t just “apply rigid interventions,” but actually listen, feel, and stay curious.
We’re happy to have Elisabeth with us — and we hope her presence encourages more ambitious students and researchers to connect, contribute, and grow with us here at CiEFT. If you are interested to grow with is feel free to reach out.
