🌍 Mental health trainings: CiEFT expands its international collaborations and training footprint

mental health corporate trainings

The first three months of the year have been very busy for us at an international level; the Cyprus Institute for Emotion-Focused Therapy (CiEFT) has proudly extended its international collaborations, offering advanced EFT training to mental health professionals and doctoral psychology students across the globe. Rooted in our mission to support excellence in clinical practice and research, these initiatives reflect our deep commitment to emotion-focused learning, cultural inclusivity, and therapist development.

Highlights of our recent international collaboration

🔹 Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland)
In February, Dr. Christina Michael was invited to deliver a structured taster session on Emotion-Focused Therapy to doctoral psychology students at Glasgow Caledonian University. The session offered students a firsthand experience of the EFT approach and sparked meaningful interest in integrating emotional processing techniques into their future clinical practice

🔹 River Foundation (Nepal)
Dr. Michael was invited by the River Foundation to deliver the first introductory talk on Emotion-Focused Therapy for psychologists and psychiatrists in Nepal. This collaboration marks the beginning of a broader training initiative, with live online modules focusing on clinical skills, emotional awareness, and the culturally sensitive application of therapeutic processes in mental health care settings.

🔹 York University, Canada – EFT level 1 International Training
We are also proud to highlight our participation in a recent advanced EFT training in Canada, led by the originator of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Professor Les Greenberg and the founder of the EFT centre in Canada Dr. Serine Warwar. Dr. Michael’s participation as a facilitator reflects our strong ties to the core EFT community and reinforces our Centre’s ongoing involvement in cutting-edge clinical education.

🔹 Online EFT group supervision – Finland, London, Cyprus and Greece

Meaning CiEFT continues to support the growth and development of Emotion-Focused Therapy practitioners through structured online group supervision. This year, Dr Michael facilitates three different EFT group supervision sessions for mental health professionals in Finland, Cyprus, London, and Greece, offering a supportive space for therapists to deepen their clinical skills and integrate core EFT principles into their practice. These supervision groups are designed to enhance therapeutic competence by observing the videotapes of the professionals. These groups are also designed to guide participants on their journey toward formal international certification in Emotion-Focused Therapy. The diversity of practice, voices and experiences within each group fosters meaningful reflection, and professional connection across cultures —reinforcing our commitment to cultivating emotionally attuned, research-informed clinicians.

A shared global vision:

These international collaborations highlight that despite our geographical distance, we all share the same vision: to help our clients process pain and to transform emotions at their core.

This high-level international connection with like-minded professionals embody CiEFT’s core values:

  • Meaningful emotional depth in therapy
  • Hands on skills during training
  • Research-informed practice
  • And a global perspective that sees therapy as a culturally nuanced and relationally grounded process.

Through shared learning, we grow stronger together.

At CiEFT, we are committed to supporting therapists — whether they are doctoral students in Scotland, clinicians in Nepal, or the next generation of EFT professionals in Canada.
